Lead Copywriter and Social Media Coordinator March 2020 - June 2021
Copywriter and Social Media Coordinator March 2019 - 2020
The marketing department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee provides print, digital, and web marketing services. These are some of my favorite projects I wrote copy for, along with the social media pages I ran for the marketing department.
UWM Union
Copywriting Samples
Here are two examples of marketing materials we did for our on-campus clients- Student Involvement and Food Operations in collaboration with Boswell Book Company (not on-campus). Samin Nosrat is an American Chef, TV Host, and Food Writer. She came to UWM in Spring 2019 to talk about her book. Our marketing for her was based on the concept of food and the four elements essential to cooking.
Black History Month at UWM is coordinated by Sociocultural Programming and sponsored by campus and stakeholders who plan a variety of programs throughout February in order to recognize and celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of people of African descent in the United States.
The event, Pantherfest, is a part of UWM's Fall Welcome Week during the first week of school in September. The events are fun and bond the entire campus community together and leading up to the last day on Friday with a concert at the Summerfest Grounds. Our marketing services come up with and brand an entire campaign for the artist along with mini-campaigns that go with it, such as safety precautions for students.
Sponsored by the student organization, Campus Activities Board, every spring to close out the school year they bring in comedians. For 2021 it's Charlie Berens, but in the past, we've had Leslie Jones and members of SNL perform standup routines. It's a fun event to enjoy with friends and close out the school year, or even as someone part of the Milwaukee community to attend.
Student News & Stuff
Student News & Stuff is an editorial publication that gets sent out via email to all students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee every Sunday night before the beginning of the week to inform students of resources, upcoming on-campus and community events for the week. This is one example of what that would look like.

Big Impact for Small Businesses
During my time as a Social Media Manager for the Wisconsin and Milwaukee Poet, Dasha Kelly Hamilton, I helped manage her professional business accounts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I designed social media graphics and content, edited photos, and scheduled posts weekly to support her mission as a double Poet Laureate running multiple non-profits in the city of Milwaukee.
